Custom Software Development with Azure and AI from Linz, Austria
We build custom software for companies in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and across Europe, from our base in Linz, Austria. Most of our projects run in complex enterprise environments: many stakeholders, high quality demands, long-term roadmaps.
Our work covers cloud applications on Microsoft Azure, AI integration and coding agents for development teams. We also offer software architecture consulting, web development and the modernization of existing systems. We take on architecture and delivery and, if you like, the handover into operations.
Azure Cloud Architecture and Operations
Developing time cockpit has given us more than 15 years of in-depth experience with Microsoft Azure. It covers everything from architecture and security to operating production systems.
We know what it means to develop and operate a SaaS solution successfully: scalability, availability, security, monitoring and cost control are part of our daily work.
We bring that experience directly into customer projects. We build new cloud applications, migrate existing systems to Azure, write infrastructure as code with Bicep and keep complex platforms running reliably.
AI Integration: Agents, MCP and LLMs in Enterprise Software
We integrate large language models into existing and new enterprise applications. We build AI agents, for example with the Microsoft Agent Framework in C#. We build MCP servers (Model Context Protocol) that give agents controlled access to company data and functions. And we add AI-assisted workflows to line-of-business applications. For us this is not about demos but about architecture: permissions, traceability, cost and operations.
AI also changes how software itself is built. How we set up coding agents for development teams is described under Harness Engineering. Rainer Stropek regularly gives talks and workshops on MCP, agents and AI-assisted development.
Harness Engineering: Coding Agents That Work Reliably in Your Codebase
Coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex are only as reliable as the environment they work in. We build that environment for development teams. It consists of an AGENTS.md with your team’s rules and architecture, skills for recurring tasks and MCP servers for controlled access to internal systems. Hooks enforce checks automatically, and tests and review loops keep every change an agent makes small and reviewable.
Security is part of the setup: which tools, data and permissions an agent gets is a deliberate architecture decision.
We work this way ourselves, for example when we migrated the time cockpit frontend from AngularJS to Angular. The repository’s AGENTS.md split the work between two roles: one model for exploration, planning and review, and a subagent for mechanical implementation and running tests.
The migration took 25 days and 233 commits, 218 of them co-authored by Claude. Build time dropped from 373 to 45 seconds, the number of tests grew from 542 to 1,331, and the API cost was about €4,250 (details on the time cockpit blog). Rainer Stropek teaches the same practices in trainings on Claude Code, MCP, skills and securing agent harnesses.
Software Architecture Consulting
As software architects from Austria, we advise companies on architecture decisions for new and existing systems: target architecture, modularization, interfaces, data management, security and operations. Our focus is on stable architectures, clear requirements and solutions that remain sustainable over the long term.
Typical triggers are an architecture review of an existing system, the decision for a technology or cloud stack, or supporting internal teams as a sparring partner. We prefer environments where software is not just built, but deliberately designed, implemented and operated for years.
As the creators and operators of time cockpit, we combine classic project work with real product experience from running a SaaS application.
Web Development: Frontends, Backends and APIs
We build web applications that companies use and evolve for years. We write frontends with TypeScript and Angular and backends and APIs with ASP.NET Core and .NET, on SQL Server and Azure SQL. They run as standalone solutions or as part of existing system landscapes. Karin Huber is responsible for design, user experience and frontend architecture, so complex requirements become clear, consistent interfaces.
On the backend we draw on more than 30 years with Microsoft technologies, with .NET since its first release. Rainer Stropek is a Microsoft MVP and Regional Director. He shares that knowledge at conferences such as BASTA! and in trainings. Our own time cockpit web client runs on Angular. We migrated it from AngularJS ourselves.
Requirements Engineering as the Foundation
Successful software starts with clear requirements. We support companies with structured elicitation, analysis, and prioritization of requirements and ensure that business and engineering are aligned.
This is crucial in enterprise environments. We mediate between business units, IT, security and operations. We document decisions transparently and create a solid basis for delivery.
DevOps, CI/CD and Build Automation
Modern software delivery doesn’t end with the commit. We have many years of experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, build and release automation as well as operating production systems.
We pay attention to auditability, reproducible builds, clear environments and clean rollout strategies. We usually work with the toolchains and processes common in large organizations. For us, these topics are an integral part of professional enterprise software delivery.
Legacy Modernization: .NET Framework, AngularJS and Aging Systems
Many companies run aging applications on .NET Framework, on discontinued web frameworks such as AngularJS, or on architectures that make every change expensive. We modernize such systems step by step, without endangering the running system. We migrate to current .NET, replace outdated frontends, move to cloud operations and build up automated tests.
Our own migration from AngularJS to Angular shows what this looks like with a well-built agent harness (harness engineering). It took 25 days. Build time dropped from 373 to 45 seconds, and the number of tests grew from 542 to 1,331. Read the details on the time cockpit blog.

Frequently Asked Questions about Custom Projects
Answers to the questions we hear most often in the first conversation
Which companies does software architects build custom software for?
We mainly work for mid-sized and large companies in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and across Europe. These are typically enterprise environments with many stakeholders, existing system landscapes and high demands on quality, security and operations. Our customers come from industries such as construction, automotive, manufacturing, software and commodity trading.
Do you work remotely or on site?
Both. We are based near Linz, Upper Austria. We work with our customers remotely across countries and time zones, and we come on site for workshops, architecture alignment or to strengthen internal teams.
Which technologies do you work with?
Our focus is Microsoft Azure and AI: LLM integration, AI agents and MCP servers. In development we use coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex. Our web applications use TypeScript and Angular on the frontend and ASP.NET Core, .NET and SQL Server on the backend. We write infrastructure as code in Bicep.
What is harness engineering?
The environment around a coding agent: instructions in AGENTS.md, skills for recurring tasks, MCP servers for controlled access to internal systems, hooks for automated checks, and tests and review loops. We set it up in your repository. Agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or OpenAI Codex then follow your team's rules, and every change stays reviewable.
How do we start a project?
With a non-binding initial conversation in which we clarify the starting point, goals and constraints. After that, a structured requirements and architecture phase lays a solid basis for estimation and delivery.
Do you take over existing applications?
Yes. We take over existing applications for further development, modernization or migration to the cloud, for example from .NET Framework to current .NET or from AngularJS to Angular. We keep the running system safe and build up automated tests along the way.
Is our code safe when coding agents work on it?
Security is part of the harness. An agent only gets the tools, data and permissions it needs for its task. MCP servers to internal systems are secured and logged, and hooks enforce checks automatically. Every change goes through tests and human review before it is merged.
How are effort and costs determined?
Effort depends on scope and constraints. After the initial conversation and requirements analysis you receive an estimate. We deliver in iterations with working increments, so progress and costs stay transparent at all times.
